Venue | Avenue
The Attractions Africa 2015 conference was held in Cape Town on 3 and 4 June 2015 at Avenue, V&A Waterfront.
Avenue is located in the hub of the V&A in between the Two Oceans Aquarium and The One & Only Cape Town. This multipurpose venue comprises of 948m2 of event space that will be the ideal location and setting for Attractions Africa 2015. This innovative venue has unique features such as unbelievable views of the harbour basin and Table Mountain and a 3861m3 predator tank (fingers crossed the tank will be full by the time of the conference!).
The V&A Waterfront, an Attraction in its own right (and arguable one of Africa’s more popular!), is home to many other Attractions. Hosting the conference at Avenue in the V&A Waterfront, gave Attractions Africa 2015 delegates the opportunity to get a few site visits on the side:
• Chavonnes Battery Museum
• Donald Greig Bonze Art Foundary & Gallery
• Iziko Maritime Museum
• Jolly Roger Pirate Boat
• Kids Ahoy Kids Playground
• Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island and Robben Island Ferries
• Springbok Experience Museum
• Redshed Craft Workshop
• Red City Bus stops
• Scratch Patch
• Shimansky – Diamond Tour
• The Cape Wheel
• Two Oceans Aquarium
• Zeitz MOCAA Pavilion
Accommodation | Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge
Just a minute away from restaurants, theatres and shops, Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge, is a perfectly positioned Cape Town hotel in the heart of the V&A Waterfront. Attractions Africa 2015 recommended the Breakwater Lodge as the preferred choice for accommodation. Situated directly opposite Avenue and the two Oceans Aquarium, delegates were but a quick walk away from the conference venue.
