James Daniels completed his Honours in Mathematics through the University of Johannesburg in 1995. His studies plus his analytical thinking have provided him with a solid base in the evaluation of business models and the optimisation of business processes. He started his career with Accenture, a leading global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company. Over nine and a half years with Accenture, as Analyst, Consultant, Manager, and Senior Manager, James obtained extensive exposure to finances and budgeting, supply chain, asset management principles and concepts, process optimisations, and system implementation. In 2006 James joined the South African National Parks (SANParks) Business Development Unit (BDU) which is responsible for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). Accountability covers the full PPP lifecycle, from procurement of the private investor, through contract management, to contract exit. During his career at SANParks, James has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from lodge developments (build, operate, and transfer) to operational projects (refurbish, operate, and transfer), as well as ground-breaking projects aimed at expanding National Parks. All of these PPPs required analytical and creative thinking to ensure sustainability, viability, and continuity. James still plays an integral role in the BDU which is recognised as a leading unit in the PPP sphere. James has a great understanding of business concepts and his experience of various PPP business models makes him a leader in this field.
